Based out of the Fort Washington marina in Fort Washington, Maryland the Fort Washington Boating Association (FWBA) was founded Septempber 21, 1996 by charter members Commodore Rev. Norris Signore, Jessie Thomas, Charles Hart, Kerry and Donna Hall and Pinkney Little. The FWBA also has members from other local area marinas located in Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia and is a member in good standing with the Potomac River Yacht Clubs Association (PRYCA). The FWBA is dedicated to the pursuit of seven principles.

  • To encourage and promote yachting (boating)
  • To encourage and promote boating safety and education
  • To develop a fraternal spirit among local boating enthusiasts
  • To provide suitable facilities for the recreation of its members
  • To provide a medium for the exchange of boating information
  • To assist in the development of adequate boat storage and dock facilities
  • To serve as an advocate for it's members and the yacting community

The FWBA is a close knit, family oriented group of people from various backgrounds, age groups, and professions but the one thing we all have in common is our love for yachting and the camaraderie that comes along with it. Each year we have many outings both on the water and on land including raft ups, trips to other marinas along the Potomac River and off the Chesapeake Bay, dock parties, cookouts, holiday parties and impromptu get togethers. We're much more than a yachting association at a marina. It is a way of life where people form lasting friendships and watch each others' children grow up. Join us for a few hugs, a lot of laughs and a treasure chest full of sacred boating memories.
